Measurement and age matter
The label uses level teaspoons, not tablespoons. The number of teaspoons depends on age; a blanket “2–6” instruction does not match this product’s printed Drug Facts. Ask a pharmacist if you cannot measure it reliably.
Label directions
- Adults and children 12 years and older: dissolve 2–4 level teaspoons in a full 8 oz glass of water.
- Children 6 to 11 years: dissolve 1–2 level teaspoons in a full 8 oz glass of water.
- Not recommended for children under 6 years.
- Do not exceed 2 doses per day. If necessary, repeat the dose after 4 hours. Do not use more than directed.
The daily maximum is a limit, not a target. A second dose is only considered if needed and after the stated interval. A two-bottle pack does not justify taking more.
Warnings to review
- Ask a doctor before use if you have kidney disease, a magnesium-restricted diet, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or a sudden change in bowel habits lasting more than 2 weeks.
- Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking a prescription drug.
- Stop use and ask a doctor for rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use; this may indicate a serious condition. Also consult a doctor if you need a laxative for more than 1 week.
- If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use.
- Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or call Poison Control immediately: 1-800-222-1222.
