How to compare the packages
The children’s formula uses a 5 mL reference volume. Multi-Symptom and honey also list amounts per 5 mL, at different strengths. Both Max-Action formulas list amounts per 20 mL. Check that reference volume before comparing milligrams.
MUCOSAN Children’s grape

Dextromethorphan HBr 5 mg, guaifenesin 50 mg and phenylephrine HCl 2.5 mg per 5 mL.
Ages 6 to under 12: 10 mL every 4 hours. Ages 4 to under 6: 5 mL every 4 hours. Under 4: do not use. Maximum 6 doses in 24 hours.

Dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg, guaifenesin 100 mg and phenylephrine HCl 5 mg per 5 mL.

Frequently asked questions
Are they interchangeable?
No. Concentrations and daily limits differ; do not transfer a dosing cup, dose or daily maximum from one formula to another.
Is honey an active ingredient?
Honey is listed as inactive in the honey-flavor formula. Its active ingredients are dextromethorphan, guaifenesin and phenylephrine.
