The label indicates temporary relief of occasional minor irritation, mouth pain, sore throat and pain associated with canker sores.
Active and inactive ingredients
The 1.4% refers to phenol. The inactive ingredient list does not specify concentrations: Citric acid, FD&C Red No. 40, flavor, glycerin, propylene glycol, sodium citrate, saccharin sodium and water.
Temporary relief and the complete label
The temporary relief described on the label is not a promise to cure the cause of pain or resolve infections. The brand name does not expand the labeled indications.
A severe or persistent sore throat, or one accompanied by high fever, headache, nausea and vomiting, may be serious: consult a doctor promptly. Do not use for more than 2 days unless directed by a doctor.
Apply five sprays to the affected area. Leave in place for at least 15 seconds, then spit out. Use every 2 hours or as directed by a doctor or dentist. Do not exceed the directions.
Children under 12 need supervision when using the product. For children under 3, consult a doctor or dentist; do not administer unless directed by a doctor.
Stop use and consult a doctor if mouth symptoms do not improve within 7 days; irritation, pain or redness persists or worsens; or swelling, rash, fever or difficulty breathing occurs.
If pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a health professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. For an accidental overdose, seek professional help or contact Poison Control immediately.
