The name and the formula
Pomada de Sulpha is the brand name. To identify the formula, read Drug Facts: the declared active ingredient is neomycin, 3.5 mg per gram. Do not infer ingredients from the name or another Sulpha product.
What the label indicates
Its first aid purpose is to help prevent infection in minor cuts, scrapes and burns. That indication does not mean treating any infection or any wound. If the condition persists or worsens, the label directs users to stop and consult a doctor.
Ointment and powder require separate review
This guide covers the ointment in a 2 oz (57 g) jar. Polvos de Sulpha is a different presentation. Do not transfer its formula or directions to the ointment. When buying, check that the full name and product form match what you need.
Check the other ingredients
The panel also lists inactive ingredients: methylparaben, propylparaben, vitamin E and white petrolatum. The allergy warning applies to product ingredients. Keep the label and confirm the package received before applying.
