Emulsión de Escocia: reading liquid, gummy and tablet labels

Emulsión de Escocia — suplemento líquido

The front of the package helps you recognize Emulsión de Escocia. The nutrition panel helps you compare what each serving contains. To read it correctly, keep three details together: format, serving size and unit of measurement.

Start with serving size

In the reviewed panels, the liquid uses a 5 mL serving, gummies use one gummy and tablets use one tablet. These are different units. A nutritional serving size is the basis for the values in the table; on its own, it does not explain who should use the product or how often to take it.

The 6.5 fl oz liquid example

The panel linked below declares vitamin A 500 mcg, vitamin D 3.3 mcg, vitamin E 9 mg and thiamin 0.5 mg per 5 mL. It also lists 10 calories, 2 g of carbohydrates and 2 g of added sugars. These values describe the reviewed liquid panel, not every product in the brand.

Units matter: mg and mcg do not represent the same amount. Copy the unit beside each nutrient rather than comparing numbers alone. Also check whether values are per serving or per container.

What changes with tablets

The panel on the 60-tablet box declares vitamin A 120 mcg RAE, vitamin C 50 mg and vitamin D 5 mcg per tablet. This combination differs from the liquid. The directions image indicates ages 12 and over and one tablet daily; confirm these directions on the package received. Do not transfer that age or frequency to the gummies.

How to review gummies

The mango gummy Nutrition Facts panel lists vitamins, minerals and omega-3. Also review the other ingredients: the image reviewed includes glucose corn syrup and citrus pectin, among others. A front-of-package photograph or a single ingredient does not establish that a product is sugar-free, vegan or allergen-free.

NIH explains that omega-3 supplement formulations vary and that labels should be checked for the types and amounts declared. That general reference does not establish specific benefits for Emulsión de Escocia or justify assigning EPA or DHA amounts that its panel does not quantify.

A practical comparison checklist

  • Full product name and format.
  • Serving size, nutrient amount and unit.
  • Other ingredients and allergens.
  • Labeled age, directions and warnings.
  • Other supplements you already use.

If two images or a product description provide different directions, ask for clarification before use. A “daily use” advertisement alone does not answer every question about age, quantity or combining formats.

General reference: NIH, omega-3 supplement formulations.
